A lot has changed in the two years since the last expo, and this year’s edition has to be one of the most anticipated in its history. On the horizon in the next twelve months alone are major marquee films like Star Wars: The Last Jedi,  Avengers: Infinity War, and The Incredibles 2. This expo is a prime opportunity for casting announcements, sneak- peek footage, and other major news. As usual, the two major conferences are split into animation and live- action, with Disney Animation and Pixar holding their John Lasseter- hosted panel on Friday afternoon and Marvel, Lucasfilm and Disney Live- Action projects getting their turn on Saturday morning.

The only films confirmed to be showing footage are Pixar’s Thanksgiving release Coco and next year’s sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck- It- Ralph 2, but that almost certainly will not be the case, as fans can expect plenty of surprises. Along with the major panels, Disney will be hosting a celebration of The Lion King with director Rob Minkoff and other special guests, plus a sneak peek at the new Frozen short Olaf’s Frozen Adventure and a celebration of the 7.
